I had to do something, so I put my faith into
action by looking for opportunities to increase
my income. I started looking for part-time jobs
in the classifieds and sent my resume to two,
even though one never sent the resume I
requested. That one called me in for an
interview and I requested a job description for
the third time. When it was emailed to me, I discovered not only was it full-time, it consisted of several jobs for one salary. I did go to the interview but the job was not for me. But one of the interviewers was an old friend, a professor from the local university. In my follow-up thank-you email, I requested my friend's email address. When it wasn't sent, I looked it up in the university's staff directory. While there, I looked up my advisor when I attended the university fourteen years ago after being accepted for a grant program and got my specialist degree in Early Intervention, a Special Education. I told her I was interested in working on my doctorate and asked about fellowships that would pay me to teach while I attend school. She told me about a grant program and asked me to email her my resume. I did and was called in for an interview the following week. I was interviewed on Thursday and got a call Friday, last Friday, that I'd been accepted. I start working 20 hours a week training teachers and parents how to teach science and math concepts to pre-schoolers and taking classes for my next degree, a Ph.D.
Last Tuesday, the day I got the call for the interview, I received a message on Facebook from a provider of an agency in another county who wants to open an agency in Toledo and wants me to be his partner. I'd wanted to become a provider for some time and open my own agency, but didn't have the capital. My new partner has the capital and I have the ideas. I expect us to have great success!
These opportunities are just the beginning of what God has for me because I have big dreams. But that's o.k. Because no dream, no matter how big, is bigger than God.
